Mind the heart

In our daily lives we encounter a constant barrage of inevitable obstacles: friction, pain, loss, stress, discomfort, unsatisfactoriness, but we also experience numerous moments of joy, happiness, bliss, love, connection, fulfilment, etc.

However, these agreeable moments come to an end. A truth that can bring back suffering. How can we learn to meet the truth of inevitable pain with kindness, the moments of suffering with compassion? How does it feel to bathe in the still pool of equanimity, knowing we are able to reach a balanced and peaceful mind? And how joyful is it, experiencing the different aspects of the Buddha’s path? A path leading to ultimate awakening.

Come and join us on this path leading to awakening the heart through training the mind.

In this daylong of Insight Meditation, we will bring mindful attention to the four truths of unsatisfactoriness laid out so clearly by the Buddha. We will meet these four truths with the emotional power of the Buddhist heart practices.

Together we will learn that freedom is possible through meeting ourselves, our relationships and our world with deepened wisdom, compassion and acceptance.

Teachers do not receive a fee for leading retreats, whilst giving enormously of their time and energy. Dharma teachings are considered priceless and therefore teachers offer their understanding freely. The livelihood of most Insight Meditation teachers depends wholly, or to a large extent, on voluntary contributions from retreatants who value their guidance and wish to support the ongoing teachings of the Dharma. Your generosity to the teacher is greatly appreciated, and at the end of each retreat there will be an opportunity to offer them a donation.
